Red Arizona: my first drone ambience video

For nearly two decades, whenever I’m writing or editing my books, I put on ambience videos in the background to help get my mind into a creative flow. Now with a drone, I’ve been able to take videos from the sky that have allowed me to create my own ambience videos and, in some ways, “carry forward” what I have personally used for years and years.

The video itself is about 17.5 minutes long. Dates footage was taken range from June 4th to June 9th, featuring six locations.

  1. Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte outside south Sedona/north Oak Creek Village
  2. Uptown Sedona and surrounding landscape
  3. Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Byway
  4. Highway 89 north of Cameron & Willow Springs
  5. Highway 89 at Antelope Pass
  6. Horseshoe Bend perimeter

I have several other locations I’ve been filming during this trip, and will be making short- and long-form videos using the footage across different platforms.

I’m currently in Washington State, and will be back in Idaho for my next conference on June 16th-17th before heading out to Glacier National Park in Montana for a few days before heading south again for the final two conferences.
